Bill Banning Prostitution Consumption Passes First Reading

|
The Knesset approved the first reading of a bill banning the consumption of prostitution. The bill is expected to proceed to discussions in the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, headed by MK Simcha Rothman. After committee deliberations conclude, the bill is expected to advance to second and third readings before officially entering the Knesset's law books. Five years ago, the law banning prostitution consumption was passed as a temporary provision set to expire this July. Discussions will be held in the coming months to bring the law to a third reading before the temporary provision expires.
