Police reported that an initial investigation into the explosion of a recycling dumpster in Beitar Illit, which killed nine-year-old Eliyahu Azriel, suggests that several minors set fire to garbage bins throughout the city and waited nearby for the arrival of emergency and rescue forces to watch them work, as they saw it as 'entertainment,' according to police. It was further reported that 'for a reason not yet fully clear, a fire was burning in a garbage container while many 'curious' children gathered around it and shortly after, the explosion occurred, causing the boy's fatal injury.'
