Deri at torched synagogue: 'Enough hate and incitement, words can kill'

|
Shas chairman Arye Deri visited the Or Haviv synagogue in Jerusalem that was set on fire overnight and said, "There is no greater hate crime than this. Burning a synagogue is an unforgivable act. We saw the burned holy books, and it was a great miracle that the Holy Ark and Torah scrolls were saved. It breaks my heart." He added, "Beyond the investigation, there is a piercing message here - enough with the hatred, enough with the incitement, see where this discourse can lead. This isn't just about studio debates, there are people at the extremes who take these things and commit serious acts. I call on everyone to stop. Words can kill."
