Turkey reaches understanding with Britain before fighter jet purchase

Turkey and Britain signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow Ankara to use Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets - a major step before purchasing them. Reuters news agency reported this, noting that negotiations for the aircraft purchase have continued for years, during which Turkey sought to buy about 40 aircraft built by a consortium of companies from Germany, Britain, Italy and Spain.
