The U.S. Tsunami Warning System has issued an alert about potential tsunami waves following the earthquake that struck Drake Passage, which connects South America to Antarctica. The warning states there is concern that tsunami waves could hit parts of Chile's coastline within the next three hours. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10.8 kilometers below sea level.
