Hostage survivor Or Levy to Jewish community in South Africa: 'I was treated like a dog'

|
Hostage survivor Or Levy returned yesterday from a week-long visit to South Africa, where he met with members of the Jewish community and told them about his 491 days in Hamas captivity, and about the struggle to free all 48 hostages. He said that "everyone needs to hear what I went through and what others are still suffering. I was treated like a dog." Levy recounted that during 2024 he saw sunlight only once while moving between tunnels, and that he was bound all the time "except for showering, about once or twice a month." He also described losing 20 kg of his weight, and usually receiving just one meal a day: "A pita and two cans of preserves, to be shared among four people."
