The government approved the 'Northern Shield' project, which allocates a budget of 6.75 billion shekels for fortifying communities within up to 9 kilometers from the border with Lebanon, the Prime Minister's Office announced. The plan includes completing fortification within 0-1 kilometers from the Lebanese border and implementing an updated self-implementation framework for communities 1-9 kilometers from the border. Additionally, the government approved increasing grants for self-implementation and retroactive completion of protected spaces up to 182,000 shekels per family.
