Ben-Gvir against former commander: 'Criminal practices don't work on me, he was convicted'

|
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded to a publication on ynet, according to which former Ayalon Prison commander Shai Fransa claimed he was fired after pressure was applied by the minister. Ben-Gvir stated that "the criminal practice whereby an offender tries to extricate himself by fabricating accusations against a third party doesn't work on me. Particularly in light of the fact that he was convicted after admitting to his actions toward the complainant." The commander, it should be noted, was convicted in the Israel Prison Service court, but the case was closed by the prosecution after it was determined that he was not suspected of wrongdoing. Fransa claimed in his petition that the dismissal was illegal, carried out by an internal court without authority, in a non-standard composition.
