Shin Bet: Hundreds of cyberattacks attempted against senior Israeli officials in past year

|
In the past year, hundreds of cyberattacks were attempted against Israeli figures, including senior government officials, senior security officials, academics and journalists. This was reported by the Shin Bet and the National Cyber Directorate. It was also reported that in recent months, and with greater intensity since Operation 'Brothers in Arms,' a significant increase has been identified in attempts by Iranian intelligence operatives to break into private Google accounts and messaging applications of senior Israeli officials: "In recent months, the Shin Bet and the National Cyber Directorate have acted to thwart and block hundreds of such attempts. This activity included delivering targeted warnings about the threat, briefings on checks to detect anomalies, blocking and removing unfamiliar access to accounts, briefings on account hardening and personal security."
