The U.S. Treasury Department imposed new sanctions on two senior Hezbollah officials and two additional individuals who provided financial support to the organization. According to the Treasury Department's statement, the four operated in Lebanon and Iran to raise funds for the organization from overseas donors, and these funds constituted a significant portion of Hezbollah's budget. It was further stated that the U.S. will continue to increase economic pressure on elements within the Iranian regime and its proxies in order to combat terrorism emanating from them.
