Ohana: Early vote on replacing Knesset speaker will be held if 61 MKs support it

|
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana responded to requests from Yisrael Beiteinu and The Democrats to hold a vote on replacing him as early as next week. He said that a vote on replacing him as speaker will be held on the swearing-in day scheduled for November 10, "if a letter bearing the signatures of a majority of MKs (at least 61 MKs) is submitted." He addressed party leaders on X: "We will respect the Knesset members and if the majority of them request to hold such a debate, I will schedule it for an early date and no later than a week. There will be no clinging to the altar's horns. It's possible to stop promoting conspiracy theories in the media."
