The family of the late Maya Vishniak responded to the conviction by plea agreement of her murderer and former partner Amit Almog. "Five and a half years after the brutal murder of our Maya, and after persistent and uncompromising efforts by the prosecution, the murderer Amit Almog was charged and today admitted to intentional murder," the family stated. "All his attempts to be acquitted due to mental circumstances have failed and forever he will bear the label of murderer on his forehead. We all hope that the court will sentence him to the maximum possible number of years so he will rot in prison."
