Israel to provide humanitarian aid to South Sudan

Israel will provide humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations in South Sudan, in light of the humanitarian crisis in the country, the Foreign Ministry announced, against the backdrop of reports that Israel is holding talks with the country regarding the absorption of refugees from the Gaza Strip. South Sudan is currently dealing with a cholera outbreak and resource shortages. According to the ministry, under the direction of Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, the aid will be transferred through MASHAV - Israel's national aid agency in the Foreign Ministry and will include essential medical equipment, water purification means, as well as special hygiene kits for cholera prevention and food packages.
