Spielberg contributes Holocaust testimonials to Yad Vashem

Three-time Oscar winner donates tens of thousands of video testimonials from Holocaust survivors to Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Authority

Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial has begun giving visitors access to the world's largest visual Holocaust archive, thanks in part to film director Stephen Spielberg.
Yad Vashem said the three-time Oscar winner was inspired by his Holocaust epic "Schindler's List" to form the Shoah (Holocaust) Foundation, which gathers video testimonials from Holocaust survivors.
The collection now has nearly 52,000 testimonials.
Copying and moving the files from Los Angeles to Israel took nearly two months of work, but now the foundation's testimonials are available at Yad Vashem, along with its own 10,000 testimonials.
Visitors will be able to use names to search for testimonials. Yad Vashem hopes to put the videos on line.
