Bezeq, Israel's national communications provider, announced Sunday it was looking into the possibility of launching WiFi telephones (wireless phones fit for use dozens of meters outside the house) in the fourth quarter of 2007.
Ran Goron, deputy marketing CEO, said that Bezeq plans to be a major player in the field of VoIP, although there was still no guarantee that the Communications Ministry will permit the company to enter the field.
At the same time, Bezeq also announced the launching of a new home web camera, the B Cam, which enables connection of a camera to high-speed internet without requiring a computer link.
The camera will enable customers to view what is taking place wherever they like, at any time: At home, at work, and anywhere else – via the internet.
