Sheldon Adelson, the world's richest Jew, is taking over another site, Yedioth Ahronoth has learned.
After Las Vegas, Macao, and Singapore the gambling and hotel mogul was chosen to build a casino in a place called "Bethlehem Steel", about an hour and a quarter drive away from New York City.
The whole project was estimated to value hundreds of millions of dollars. The site is located close to Allentown in Pennsylvania, and is considered to be the most prestigious potential hotel site in the United States.
The City Council has decided to give the permit to Adelson without a bid. The project includes a 300 bedroom hotel, a conference hall, and a shopping mall.
The project is expected to open in the year 2008.
