Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant against Boaz Yona, former CEO and owner of construction company Heftsiba, which filed for bankruptcy last week.
A week and-a-half ago, the Israel police issued an arrest warrant for Yona after he fled the country and broke off all contacts with his creditors. At first it was believed that Yona was in London, but Israeli entrepreneurs in Romania later reported that he was sited in the eastern European country.
Israel and Romania have joint extradition treaties which in the past have led to the extradition to Israel of many criminals.
It appears that Interpol would concentrate its efforts on tracing Yona in Romania and bringing him to extradition. Upon his extradition, Yona is to be questioned by the police's National Fraud Unit in Israel.
