Some 800 ultra-Orthodox women have been trained as software engineers, architects and graphic artists, according to a new study conducted by the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry.
Most of these women have been integrated into the labor market and earn a handsome salary, and nearly half of them work for a secular employer.
The women, aged 18 to 25, were trained as part of a program called Chen (the initials of "chochmat nashim" – wisdom of women).
Recently the Ministry's Administration for Research and Economy, headed by Benny Pepperman, conducted a study which looked into the integration of haredi women trained as engineers into the labor market.
The study, led by researcher Yael Goldfarb, found that 76% of the haredi graduates of the different courses were able to find a job matching their profession.
