A company in the United Arab Emirates organized a game for its employees: They were given the chance to choose chocolate boxes from a pile. Some employees really did find chocolate inside, but others discovered a better prize — a new iPhone.
The game, which was shared in a viral video on social media, ultimately ended with every participant receiving an iPhone, including those who had picked a box containing chocolate.

The company, World Star Holding, said the gesture was intended to recognize a number of outstanding employees.
In the video, shared on social media by CEO Haseena Nishad, company founder Nishad Hussain is seen inviting employees to choose a box without knowing what is inside as their colleagues watch and cheer.
Those who opened boxes containing chocolate smiled at the prank, while others found a new iPhone. Later, Haseena herself is seen handing devices to the employees who had received chocolate.
According to the owners, the event was intended to recognize the hard work of employees across the company.
The video drew widespread attention online and prompted a range of reactions. In one comment, a user said his boss had claimed the video was made with artificial intelligence. Others asked whether the company had any job openings.
Nishad and Haseena, a couple of Indian origin, moved to the UAE in 2008 and founded the business in Abu Dhabi. As the company grew, it opened an additional headquarters in Sharjah.
They say employee welfare and retention have been top priorities since the company’s early days.
Haseena describes an approach aimed at keeping employees happy and closely connected to the organization, and credits gestures like these with helping retain talent over the long term.
She said some employees have been with the company since it was founded, while most have worked there for more than five years.

The iPhone giveaway is the latest in a series of similar company events.
In 2024, to mark International Workers’ Day, World Star Holding gave 16 employees stays at five-star hotels, rides in supercars with private drivers and yacht parties.
A year earlier, the company held a special movie screening for its employees.
The company also organizes an annual sports day in which employees are divided into four teams, and sets aside a monthly budget for training, which it says is intended to maintain a healthy and competitive spirit.
World Star Holding presents these activities as part of a broader effort to recognize employees’ contributions, strengthen team cohesion and foster long-term loyalty.
