Nvidia is planning a significant expansion in Israel with a massive new campus planned to be built on up to 30 acres.
The tech giant already employs 5,000 people in its Research and Development center in Israel, its largest outside the United States, but the new campus would mean that it would grow its staff threefold in the coming years.
In January, the company said it was building a new data center in an investment of half a billion dollars. The center that will span some 10,000 sq. meters (107,000 sq. feet) will feature the largest data center of its kind in Israel, to be used exclusively by the company for its needs.
Nvidia already uses a supercomputer built in Israel – Israel-1, that last year rose to the 34th place on the list of the 500 of the world's supercomputers. It is destined to later serve the local high-tech industry.
The new campus will be built near the company's Israel headquarters in the northern city of Yokneam, with easy access to transportation and major highways.

The plans were revealed after on Sunday Nvidia issued an RFI – Request for Information, seeking to purchase land for construction to be submitted by July 23.
Nvidia has a significant operation in Israel that was advanced with the purchase of Melanox in 2020. Hundreds of systems and labs in the new site would be used by dozens of engineering groups and new products to develop the company's new technologies for communication hardware and software, CPU and AI, to mention some.
