e-Bay to shut down Israel R&D operations

The company announces it is leaving Israel by the first quarter of 2026 and is firing all 200 employees of its research and development center after waves of layoffs

eBay will shut down its R&D center in Israel by the first quarter of 2026, the company said. All 200 employees in its Netanya offices will be let go.
"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our office in Israel during the first quarter of 2026. We are committed to continuing to provide support and accompany our employees throughout the transition process," the company said in a statement.

The announcement came after several waves of layoffs of eBay employees, which mainly affected marketing and sales activities in Israel.
The company opened its research and development center in 2005.
