Copperhelm, a cybersecurity startup focused on so-called agentic cloud security, emerged from stealth with $7 million in seed funding led by TLV Partners. Additional investors include toDay Ventures, ICON and SaaS Ventures Israel.
The company said it has developed a new approach to cloud security built on artificial intelligence agents that continuously monitor cloud environments, assess security risks and remediate threats in real time.
Copperhelm was founded by Shimon Tolts, Eyar Zilberman and Roman Labunsky, whose backgrounds include roles at Unity, McAfee and RSA. The team also includes industry figures recognized as AWS Heroes (a designation by Amazon Web Services), a CNCF Ambassador (a representative of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation) and a GitHub Star (an honor for prominent contributors on the software platform).
The startup aims to address what it describes as a gap in enterprise cloud security, where teams have been slower to adopt AI tools compared with engineering departments.
“Engineering teams got AI years ago; security was left behind doing manual work,” Tolts, the company’s CEO, said in a statement. “Copperhelm brings AI to cloud security, allowing teams to investigate, validate and remediate threats far more quickly.”
Cloud environments are often complex and fragmented, making it difficult for general-purpose AI systems to operate effectively, the company said. Copperhelm’s platform is designed specifically for cloud infrastructure and can operate across hundreds of accounts.
At the core of its system is what the company calls a “Context Lake,” a real-time data layer that aggregates and structures cloud information to give AI agents the context needed to analyze risks and take action.
The platform includes specialized agents for network analysis, system behavior monitoring, adversary simulation and automated remediation. These agents connect directly to live workloads, inspect processes and deploy protections such as web application firewall rules without causing downtime, according to the company.
“Applying AI to cloud security requires deep architectural expertise, not just generic models with integrations,” said Rona Segev, co-founder and managing partner at TLV Partners.
Copperhelm said the funding will be used to expand product development, grow its engineering team and accelerate go-to-market efforts. Shay Michel, managing partner at Merlin Ventures, is joining the company’s board.
Based in Tel Aviv, Copperhelm says it serves large enterprises seeking to automate cloud security operations while keeping human oversight in place.
