Winter in the White City: Historic photos capture Tel Aviv cold

Major winter storms are noteworthy in the beachy metropolis and have transfixed photographers for decades; these pictures show bygone winters from days of hand-carts and long lines for bookstores.

It is always something of an event when beachy Tel Aviv is subject to wintry weather, and the three-day winter storm that began on Saturday night is no exception. Ynet and the "White City – Tel Aviv" blog have collected historic photographs capturing Tel Aviv winter weather throughout the decades.
