Israeli flag grabbed from fan at 'Rebelde Way' concert in Spain

No security guard came to her aid, but a Greek concertgoer stood by the fan and encouraged her to wave it again; 'He urged me to raise it again, saying I shouldn't be afraid, no matter where I am'

Many Israelis attended recent concerts in Spain by Erreway, the band from the beloved TV series "Rebelde Way" — but for one fan, the experience took an unpleasant turn.
Incident at " "Rebelde Way" performance in Spain: Israeli flag taken from fan
Fan Dor Edri recounted how she was waving an Israeli flag during the show when another attendee grabbed it from her.
"We got to the concert and everything was great. At first we displayed the Israeli flag through the phone screen, and later decided to wave a small physical flag," Edri told Ynet.
"I waved it in the air for a few minutes, and suddenly a girl snatched it from me, threw it on the floor, and showed a Palestinian flag on her phone screen," she said.

Edri noted that it wasn’t the security guards who came to her aid, but a Greek man standing nearby. “He saw what was happening, pushed the girl back, and protected me,” she said. “When I lowered the flag, he urged me to raise it again, saying I shouldn't be afraid, no matter where I am. He stayed by me and my friends for the rest of the concert — about 20 minutes — to make sure we were safe.”

She added that the band members — Felipe Colombo, Benjamín Rojas, and Camila Bordonaba — appeared to welcome the Israeli flags and even greeted the crowd in Hebrew from the stage.

At another Erreway concert in Spain, a different fan, Natanel Ben Shabat — a former promoter of Spanish-language shows in Israel — said security specifically asked him to remove his Israeli flag.
"Out of all the flags people were waving, they only asked to remove the Israeli one," Ben Shabat said. "We pointed out that there were flags from many countries, but they didn’t care."
