Brad Arnold, lead singer of the American rock band 3 Doors Down, announced via an Instagram video that the band is canceling its upcoming summer tour due to a cancer diagnosis.
“I’ve got some not-so-great news for you today,” Arnold said in the video published Wednesday. “A few weeks ago, I got sick and went to the hospital for a check-up. That’s when I received the diagnosis. The disease is at stage 4, and that’s not exactly good news."
“But you know what? We serve an all-powerful God—and He can overcome anything. So I’m not afraid. Truly, I’m not scared at all. But it does mean we’ll have to cancel our summer tour, and we’re really sorry about that,” he added, ending the message with a heartfelt request for fans to pray for him.
“I’d be grateful if you’d remember me in your prayers whenever you get the chance,” he said, noting that he’s been listening to the band’s song "It’s Not My Time," which he now finds especially meaningful.
3 Doors Down formed in the 1990s and broke through in 2000 with their debut single Kryptonite from their first album. Among their biggest hits is Here Without You from 2004. The band has released six studio albums over the years, and its lineup has changed frequently—except for Arnold and guitarist Chris Henderson, who has been with the band since 1998.
