The edgy comedy Ginny & Georgia's second season aired just last week on Netflix, and besides the hype around the return of one of the most popular series on the streaming service, Israeli viewers have one more reason to be excited.
During the fifth episode of the season, around the 29th minute, Noa Kirel's hit song “Paamon” was played during one of the scenes.
"It is really an honor," Roberto Ben Shoshan, Kirel's agent told the N12 news outlet. "It is also an honor to the music industry in Israel! Each achievement of this kind promotes Israeli music and opens the eyes of people around the globe to talents in our country."
The show Ginny & Georgia, which Netflix describes as “'90210' meets 'The Gilmore Girls,'” is about a young mother and her teenage daughter.
The series follows Ginny Miller, a "15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother," Georgia, in a New England town where the mother decides to settle down with Ginny and her son Austin.
The soap opera-like comedy was number one when it premiered on the streaming service last year. And nearly 60 million households tuned in for the debut of the second season.
Kirel's "Paamon" song so far stacked almost 18 million views on YouTube, as recently the popstar was also chosen as the leading Israeli artist on TikTok in 2022, according to the social media platform's end-of-year wrap.
Kirel is also expected to represent Israel in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest to take place in May in Liverpool. She is currently working on the song she will perform in the contest.
