A delegation of Christian leaders from the United States and Europe arrived in Israel on Sunday amid rising tensions with Iran, seeking firsthand insight into the conflict and tools to combat antisemitism worldwide.
The group, led by Bishop Robert Stearns, founder and president of the pro-Israel organization Eagles’ Wings, met with Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel, who briefed them on Israel’s foreign relations and efforts to strengthen ties with the international Christian community. The delegation will also meet senior officials from Israel’s security establishment and tour strategic sites across the country.
“This war is part of a global struggle, a broader interfaith conflict with Israel on the front lines,” Haskel said. “At a time when missiles were being fired at us, these courageous leaders chose to come to Jerusalem. Their decision during these challenging days is a powerful testament to their commitment. You are faithful ambassadors in the struggle against disinformation and propaganda directed at Israel and the Jewish community around the world.”
Stearns told the delegation, “We are witnessing an unprecedented wave of antisemitism directed at Israel, funded by the Muslim Brotherhood. At a time when many choose to judge Israel from afar, we chose to come and see the reality with our own eyes. We will not be intimidated, and we will not remain silent. Israel is not alone.”
The leaders represent Christian communities across the U.S. and Europe, collectively influencing hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Their visit, organized by Eagles’ Wings, is designed to provide practical tools for advocacy and reinforce solidarity with Israel during a volatile regional period.
The delegation will also meet Ambassador George Deek, Israel’s special envoy to the Christian world, along with 300 Christian leaders from around the globe who will join virtually.
The visit comes as extremist organizations continue efforts to isolate Israel internationally. Delegation members say their presence signals steadfast support for Israel and the Jewish people.
