Just a month after earning its sixth consecutive Michelin star, surprising news has emerged: Prism, the acclaimed Berlin restaurant helmed by Israeli chef Gal Ben Moshe, will close its doors at the end of August, concluding seven years of operation.
Ynet has learned that while Ben Moshe is shutting down his Berlin establishment, he isn’t leaving Europe. Instead, Prism will reopen in a new location—this time, in Prague.

In a statement posted Wednesday on the restaurant’s official page, the team wrote: “For the past seven years, we’ve poured our hearts into this restaurant. We’ve cherished every accolade and celebrated every award. But the truth is—we’re exhausted. Our dream was to create a small, intimate neighborhood restaurant where guests could truly get to know us and our food. But in a time when justifying fine dining is becoming increasingly difficult, we kept pushing, taking on more and more, committing to new projects in an effort to keep the dream alive. Eventually, it became too much. We didn’t quit without giving it everything we had.”

Ben Moshe opened Prism seven years ago, earning its first Michelin star just two years later. His menus blend Mediterranean and European influences, and the wine list prominently features selections from Israel and the broader Middle East. Since 2012, he has lived in Germany with his family and divides his time between Berlin and Tel Aviv. Since 2022, he has also served as head chef at Tel Aviv’s Pastel—and soon, in Prague as well.
Chef Gal Ben Moshe declined to comment on the matter.
