A month after finishing second place at Eurovision, Noam Bettan has released a new song titled “Tamid Ratziti Od” (“I Always Wanted More”). Watch the music video:
The video features Lihi Freud, the dancer who portrayed the character of Michelle at Eurovision, alongside Israeli delegation director Yoav Tzafir and social media personality Gal Gvaram.
“This is a special song I wrote with talented friends, in a completely different period of my life, and over time it gained a new and more accurate meaning,” Bettan wrote on his Instagram account.
“It’s amazing to see how music changes its color over time, and takes on new meanings and comes out exactly at the right time,” he added.
Bettan said that “Tamid Ratziti Od” is “a song that speaks a lot about my journey, as a child and through the process of growth that brought with it so much learning and development. Music makes me a better person, sets boundaries for me, protects me from myself, protects me from the world and helps me release pain, talk about everything I feel and receive great healing, in the hope that it also helps other people.”
In the video, Batten also pays tribute to Michael Jackson’s dance style. “From the very first moment in the studio when the song was written, I already imagined the scene of me as a child dancing and imitating Michael Jackson, who was the first significant inspiration in my life, the one who made me dream with all my strength. A song that for me symbolizes a new beginning for everything that is coming. And believe me, there is so much, thank God,” he said.
Bettan also wrote that he is “proud of this song and this video,” and said that “what brought me to this point is staying close to my heart and being fully myself. Letting my color be expressed without being ashamed. Without trying to please anyone except myself. And that’s how it will remain.”
