Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein may only be playing a couple in Netflix’s new romantic comedy “Office Romance” but if a new Page Six report is to be believed, their off-screen relationship went beyond acting.
A source claimed that during filming the two developed a particularly close bond. “They kept things professional on set while filming but their chemistry was undeniable,” the source said. “They tried to keep things low-key during the months while filming but flirted here and there on set, and they definitely had a strong connection.”

According to the same source, people on set were not indifferent to what was unfolding around them. “Everyone saw them getting very cozy together at the wrap party and it was obvious they were into each other,” the source said.
The report claims the connection did not end when the cameras stopped rolling. The two were even seen together in early 2025 at a Broadway performance of “Oh, Mary!” in New York and after production wrapped they allegedly took things a step further.
“Once filming wrapped, they were free to take things further and dated for quite some time,” the source claimed. “They liked spending time together and Brett made her happy.”
But like many Hollywood romances, this one did not last. According to the source, the relationship simply lost momentum. “There’s no bad blood but it just kind of came to a lull. They have a good friendship but in terms of romantic chemistry, that ship has sort of sailed.”

The source added that the two shared a strong physical attraction but ultimately concluded they were better suited as friends. “There’s no bad blood but it just kind of came to a lull.” Representatives for Lopez, 56, and Goldstein, 45, did not respond to media requests for comment.
As a reminder, rumors of a budding romance during the filming of “Office Romance” first surfaced in September 2024, when it was reported that Goldstein would star alongside Lopez in the Netflix romantic comedy. Shortly after, social media users resurfaced a clip from his podcast “Films To Be Buried With” in which he praised Lopez’s look in the film “Hustlers” back in 2019. “F–king hell. 50!” he said at the time in admiration. “She’s 50. I love her.”

He also joked about a scene in which Lopez hugs another actress while wearing a fur coat. “I’ve never wanted to be cuddled more,” he said. “That is one of the best cuddles. … Give me one of your special cuddles.”
Despite the new report, Lopez herself quickly denied any romantic involvement with Goldstein during a joint appearance on the “Today” show on Tuesday. Host Savannah Guthrie asked whether the talk about their off-screen chemistry was true. Lopez replied: “There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person.”

Guthrie was not fully convinced and told Lopez she had not really answered the question. “OK, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me, that was not an answer,” she said. Lopez then gave a more direct response: “Not dating.” Goldstein quickly confirmed: “Correct.”
