No longer chubby, he's far from it: Jonah Hill was barely recognizable in photos leaked from the set of "Cut Off," the new comedy he is directing.
In the pictures, Hill, 41, looks thinner than ever, so much so that the internet is even debating whether it’s really him or a look-alike. He wore fur-trimmed buckskin trousers and a tight turtleneck, sporting long, slick blond hair. Kristen Wiig, 52, was also dressed strikingly, in layers of colorful lace.
Hill wrote the screenplay for the film and stars in it alongside Wiig. They play an absurdly privileged sibling duo whose wealthy parents have shut off the cash flow, forcing them to cope with a world where money doesn’t grow on trees. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bette Midler and Nathan Lane co-star as their mother and father.
In the past, Hill has spoken about the physical changes to his appearance, some for roles and some part of his private life. He has talked about the shame he felt when his body became a topic of conversation, and in 2021 even posted on Instagram asking people to stop.
“I know you mean well, but I ask that you don’t comment on my body,” he wrote in the post, which has since been deleted. “Whether in praise or criticism, I want to politely inform you that it’s unhelpful and does not make me feel good.”
In an open letter published in 2022, Hill revealed that he no longer plans to take part in publicity tours to promote his projects because they cause him anxiety. He called the decision “an important step to protect myself.”
