According to reports, Britney Spears has sold her song catalog and an unspecified number of additional rights to Primary Wave. The details of the deal are unclear and likely subject to strict nondisclosure agreements, but according to TMZ, which first reported the sale, it is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
It can be cautiously assumed that the deal included Spears’ artist royalties and publishing rights. TMZ reported that Spears sold Primary Wave ‘her share of ownership of the catalog,’ though the price itself was not specified in the documents.

Primary Wave is considered one of the most active companies in the music catalog acquisition market and has previously purchased catalogs from artists such as Stevie Nicks, as well as the estates of Prince and the Notorious B.I.G.
Spears has not released an album since 2016’s Glory and has not performed live since October 2018. She was released from her conservatorship in 2021 and has since maintained a relatively low public profile, though she frequently posts videos of herself dancing at home on social media.
