The European Broadcasting Union released the first images Wednesday of Yuval Raphael on stage in Basel, showcasing Israel’s performance for Eurovision 2025.
Raphael is seen standing at the center of a large chandelier, surrounded by dramatic lighting and impressive pyrotechnics. In the photos, she extends her arms, which appear like wings adorned with black feathers—a look that quickly drew comparisons on social media to Dana International’s iconic feathered costume from Eurovision 1998.

The Israeli delegation described Tuesday’s rehearsal as “excellent and emotional,” praising Raphael’s professionalism despite the fact that she had never performed professionally until six months ago.
Israel faces a relatively light schedule over the coming days, with its next rehearsal set for Friday. Raphael will perform in the second semifinal, which will air next Thursday on Kan.
