The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 2026 International Emmy Awards overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with three nominated productions focusing on Israel or the war in Gaza. No Israeli production is among this year’s nominees. The winners will be announced Nov. 23 in New York.
In the Current Affairs category, Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel’s War, an investigation produced by Britain’s Zandland for ITV, received a nomination. The film, which aired in Britain last November and is available on YouTube, is based on testimony from IDF soldiers and reservists who served in Gaza.

According to The Guardian, the film includes allegations of civilians being shot, Palestinians being used as human shields and indiscriminate bombing.
The Guardian also published the IDF’s response when the film aired, saying the military acts in accordance with its legal and moral obligations, prohibits the use of civilians as human shields and examines allegations of misconduct.
In the Documentary category, Louis Theroux: The Settlers was nominated. The film follows British documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux as he meets Israeli settlers in the West Bank.

In the News category, Qatari network Al Jazeera’s Missing in Gaza, which focuses on the search for missing people in the Gaza Strip, also received a nomination.
The nominations come as controversy continues over NAZA, the documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, received a 25-minute standing ovation and won the Special Jury Prize.
The film also drew sharp reactions in Israel, while the state is preparing an official, coordinated response intended for international audiences.
This year’s International Emmy list includes no Israeli nominees, unlike previous years in which Israeli productions were nominated and won awards. Last year, Bad Boy was nominated in the Drama Series category; Tehran won that category in 2021; and Nevsu won the Comedy award in 2018.
