UK-based entertainment outlet Daily Mail on Sunday published a list of the richest members of the British royal family. While many might expect King Charles to top the list, you may be surprised to learn that his eldest son, Prince William, the heir to the throne, has surpassed his father.
According to figures released by The Times magazine, Prince William's personal wealth is estimated at £1.5 billion — equivalent to nearly NIS 7 billion ($1.9 billion). The heir's fortune skyrocketed after inheriting the Duchy of Cornwall from his father, which boosted his annual income by an estimated £24 million.

Next in line on the list of the richest royals in Britain is King Charles, with a personal wealth of £900 million. Following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, Charles inherited the Duchy of Lancaster, valued at an estimated £647 million.
Additionally, the king receives an annual income from his estates, amounting to £27 million between 2023 and 2024. He also inherited a significant portion of Queen Elizabeth's personal wealth, which The Sunday Times valued at £370 million, as well as an extensive collection of stamps, stocks, artwork and jewelry.
Trailing behind King Charles by £850 million is his sister, Princess Anne, with a personal fortune of £50 million. According to The Times, Anne inherited Gatcombe Park, a 730-acre estate, from her late mother, which she had to divide with her ex-husband, Captain Mark Phillips, after their separation.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who famously stepped down from royal duties in 2020 to pursue financial independence away from the spotlight, have reported personal wealth estimated at £20 million in 2022.

However, by their accounts, their combined fortune now stands at £60 million, following their independent ventures and an initial fortune of £37.5 million. Of this, £34 million came from Harry: £23 million inherited from his late mother Princess Diana and an additional £7 million from his late grandmother, the Queen Mother.
Markle contributed £3.5 million, which she earned largely during her acting career on the series Suits. In August, Harry also inherited $8.5 million from the Queen Mother, released upon his 40th birthday.
The list continues with Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, who share a joint fortune of £10 million. According to The Times, much of Edward's wealth was inherited from his father, Prince Philip, and grandmother, the Queen Mother.
Lastly, there’s Kate Middleton, who may have recently won the title of the most beloved royal, but when it comes to wealth, lags behind her husband. Reports suggest her personal fortune is estimated between £5.7 million and £8.1 million, despite her marriage to the extraordinarily wealthy Prince William.

However, there’s little reason for concern — her jewelry collection, inherited from her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, is valued at millions of pounds, ensuring her share of royal riches remains secure.
Prince Andrew maintains a bank account totaling £5 million, while his two daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, enjoy balances ranging between £750,000 and £3.5 million (exact figures are unavailable). Zara Tindall, Princess Anne's daughter, boasts a fortune of £15.6 million, identical to that of her husband, Mike Tindall, who has a matching account. Similarly, Zara's brother, Peter Phillips, also has an account valued at the same amount.
Finally, there's David Armstrong-Jones, the late Princess Margaret's son, whose wealth is shrouded in uncertainty. Reports suggest his fortune lies somewhere between £19.7 million and £30.7 million.
