Two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank is preparing to become a mother of three. The 52-year-old actress, known for her role in "Million Dollar Baby," announced Wednesday that she and her husband, Philip Schneider, are expecting another child, three years after welcoming their twins.
Swank first surprised fans in October 2022 when, at age 48, she announced that she and Schneider were expecting twins. In April 2023, she became a mother for the first time, welcoming a son, Ohm, and a daughter, Aya.
On Wednesday, Swank shared the news of her second pregnancy with a playful Instagram video, writing: "A lot of people have been asking what project I'm doing next, this one releases in December."
The video shows Swank, Schneider and their children dancing in complete darkness with glow sticks attached to their clothing, creating illuminated stick figures. As Swank turns toward the camera, a small glowing baby figure appears on her belly, revealing the pregnancy and hinting at a December due date.
Swank and Schneider married in 2018 after dating for two years. It was her second marriage, following a decade-long relationship with actor Chad Lowe.
Swank has previously spoken openly about becoming a mother later in life. In a 2022 interview with Extra, she explained that her acting career and the absence of the right relationship had delayed her plans to have children.
In an interview with People earlier this year, she reflected on the timing of motherhood. "It just worked out that I had babies this much later in life," Swank said.
She explained that she had always wanted children, but circumstances had prevented her from becoming a mother sooner. Now, with an established career and greater flexibility in her personal life, she said she was able to devote more time and attention to raising her twins.
With another baby on the way, the actress and her husband are preparing to expand their family once again, while three-year-old Aya and Ohm get ready to welcome a younger sibling.
