Perfect for the Israeli summer: Messy bun takes over fashion world

Sported by stars like Zoe Kravitz and Hailey Bieber at Paris Fashion Week, new hairdo emerges as Israel’s ultimate summer hairstyle

The beauty world is moving away from the sleek, polished updos that once dominated runways and red carpets. In their place: the messy bun. This laid-back look, spotted on Hailey Bieber, Zoe Kravitz and others at Paris Fashion Week, is making a strong comeback — and it’s tailor-made for Israel’s hot and humid climate.
“No trend makes Israeli women happier than the return of the messy bun,” said Barak Nehiasi, hairstylist and Indola’s brand ambassador in Israel. “It flatters all hair types, looks great on everyone, and creates a stylish, effortless vibe. In my eyes, it’s practically our national hairstyle.”

1. Pull your hair into a high, loose ponytail using an elastic. Don’t tighten it too much — the whole look depends on a relaxed, natural feel.
2. Twist the ponytail into a loose bun that suits your hair's volume and shape. Once you're happy with the look, secure it with another elastic to keep things in place but still slightly undone.
3. For added style, gently pull out a few strands from the bun.

4. Divide those strands into two, cross them softly around the base of the bun and pin them in place with bobby pins. This gives the bun a softer, more polished finish that holds throughout the day.
5. Finally, pull out a few face-framing strands from the front of your hair to create a flattering, bohemian touch. It’s a small detail that makes the entire look feel more romantic and refined.
