The basketball website Eurohoops reported Tuesday that the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team requested for the second time this season that their home games in the Euroleague games return to Israel, but the request was rejected.
Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war, the Yellows have been "hosting" their home Euroleague games in Belgrade, and this arrangement is, it seems, scheduled to continue until the end of the current season.
According to the same publication, the Euroleague rejected Maccabi's request after clubs including Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos (the reigning European champion) "expressed concern about the security situation that would prevail in Israel."

The repeated requests come against the backdrop of the bad season that the team is experiencing in this year's Euroleague play. On Friday the team recorded its seventh loss (89-82) against Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz of Spain in the team's last eight games in the competition, and is ranked 17th after 26 games with a record of 6-20.
