The musical's stars - Alon Aboutboul and Miri Mesika - nabbed the nods for Best Actor in A Musical and Best Actress in A Musical.
"It's very exciting, was surprised to receive the news and I don't know if someone from Israel has ever been nominated for the Olivier Awards," Mesika said. "The play is about Israel, and the Israeli actors are the nominees - it's crazy and hard to grasp," she said.
Other categories in which the play was nominated were Best Original Score or New Orchestrations, Mastercard Best New Musical, and Best Actor In A Supporting Role in A Musical. David Yazbek and Jamshied Sharifi wrote the play's score and were responsible for the orchestration as well.
