Eight months have passed since that unforgettable October day when it became clear that Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau were not just a rumor, but a full-blown love story. And now, after what counts in Hollywood time as at least eight years, the two still appear to be very much in the honeymoon phase.
Perry and Trudeau were caught by paparazzi on Saturday during a romantic picnic in Santa Barbara, California, where they were photographed kissing and cuddling on the grass, according to photos published by Page Six.
Wearing sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, the two stretched out on a checkered picnic blanket, where they were seen kissing and rubbing noses. Perry was photographed lying over Trudeau, who wrapped her in an affectionate embrace.
A video from the outing also showed the two walking together, with Trudeau, ever the gentleman, carrying Perry’s straw bag as she walked a few steps ahead of him and glanced back every few moments.
For anyone who has not been following the plot twist, Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors in 2025 after being seen together in Montreal, following the singer’s split from Orlando Bloom and Trudeau’s separation from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. Their relationship later became more public through affectionate outings and social media posts.
“Katy is really into it and is happy. She is trying to keep things low-key and does not want to make the relationship too public,” a source close to the singer said at the time.
Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau separated in 2023 after 18 years of marriage and three children together. Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand and later engaged to actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter.
