Lucasfilm is considering actress Sydney Sweeney for a possible Jedi role in an upcoming Star Wars project, according to a report circulating on social media.
The claim was posted Feb. 15, 2026, by entertainment industry account MyTimeToShineHello on X and quickly gained traction online. The studio has not confirmed the report and has made no official casting announcement.
If accurate, the role would mark Sweeney’s entry into one of Hollywood’s largest film franchises. She is known for her performances in the HBO series “Euphoria” and in films including “Madame Web,” “Immaculate” and “Anyone But You.”
Lucasfilm has multiple Star Wars projects in development, including a film focused on Rey and the New Republic, as well as a new trilogy planned by producer Simon Kinberg. The next theatrical releases are “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” scheduled for May 22, 2026, and “Star Wars: Starfighter,” set for May 28, 2027.
It is not clear which project Sweeney would be attached to if discussions move forward. Lucasfilm has not commented on the report.
