"I knew that we would become deep, dear friends,” she posted Tuesday to her 20 million followers on Instagram, accompanied by a host of photos from her visit.
“I feel so lucky to be considered as such by this angel,” Rose wrote.
Lee-Shimon was equally appreciative. “My sweet angel! I feel so blessed we got to meet on our film," she replied. "You went straight into my heart. I love your gentle loving heart so much. You literally had me at Hello.”
The post was quickly flooded with comments from the anti-Israel brigade, writing "Free Palestine!" and "Apartheid Israel" underneath the pictures. Rose remained undeterred, however, replying she was simply visiting a friend and has no interest in politics.
Both women are part of the cast of the yet-to-be-released thriller "Dirty Angels," revolving around a group of hardened woman posing as medics trying to retrieve a group of teenagers stuck in the middle of a Sunni feud between the Taliban and the Islamic State.
