Eden, one of the most prominent and influential producers in Israeli television, died at 52 after she was found Sunday without signs of life in a hotel room in Athens during filming of the fourth season of “Tehran.” Israeli police were notified of the discovery of her body, and a senior official told ynet: “We have received no indication of suspicion of a criminal act.”
The Foreign Ministry said Israel’s embassy in Athens “is handling the tragic incident in Greece, is in contact with the family of the deceased Israeli and is assisting them during this difficult time.”
Eden, who worked in the industry for more than three decades, helped create and lead a string of successful series — most notably “Tehran,” which won the International Emmy Award for best drama. Alongside her partner Shula Spiegel, she led a major deal with Apple TV+ and was identified with the international breakthrough of Israeli television drama in recent years. She is survived by her husband and three children.
