Taylor Swift mentions Israel in her documentary and fans are furious

Swift's new docuseries, 'Taylor Swift: The End of an Era,' has sparked an online uproar over two references to Israel; angry netizens claim Swift deliberately chose to include segments and are demanding that she take pro-Palestinian stance

This week, "Taylor Swift: The End of an Era" premiered on Disney+, offering fans an intimate look at Swift’s Eras Tour. While many were thrilled, others are angry about the "Zionist" content that appears in the documentary and the fact that Israel is mentioned in it, not once, but twice, calling it “embarrassing” and “disgusting.”
The first mention appears in a scene with fans waiting outside a concert, where they say they met others from “Scotland, England and Israel.” Critics online claimed the pause between countries suggested the Israel reference could have been easily edited out.

The second appearance comes in a CNN news clip about canceled shows in Austria due to terror threats, featuring a reporter broadcasting from Tel Aviv.
The comments also come against the backdrop of fan anger that, during the war in Gaza, Swift refrained from taking a firm political stance in favor of the Palestinian side.

One user wrote on X: “I never liked Taylor swift but this is just beyond embarrassing, you willingly made the choice to include Israel in your documentary, beyond disgusting.” Another added: “Taylor deserves all the backlash after Israel was mentioned twice in her doc, it’s f**ing gross.”
Others linked the mentions to broader political implications. “The irony when talking about terrorists. Taylor Swift purposely includes Jews in her doc and mentions Israel more than once to humanize baby killers and perpetrators of genocide,” one user tweeted. Another added: “Of course she didn’t ask for it to be edited out. I guess she only cries over massacres when it benefits her.”
Some also criticized the documentary for not addressing the death of a fan during a Swift concert in Brazil, though only two episodes have been released so far.
