Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Monday.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL (Go tell your grandmother — we will be the Super Bowl halftime show).”
The performance by Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — caps an especially busy year for the Puerto Rican star. In January he released his seventh album, "Debí Tirar Más Fotos," a tribute to his homeland, and followed it with 30 concerts there for a combined audience of about 500,000 that concluded this month. He is also launching a world tour with stops in Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain and Italy.
Shortly before the announcement the singer tweeted on the X platform: “I’ve been thinking about it lately, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do one more date in the United States.” That echoed a statement weeks earlier that he had ended his U.S. run amid concerns that, as a successful Latin artist, his fans could become targets of U.S. immigration enforcement agents.
The news ends months of persistent rumors that Taylor Swift would perform; her fans had begun collecting supposed “clues” she had left about a Super Bowl appearance. To their disappointment, that will not happen this year.
The Super Bowl halftime show is widely regarded as the world’s biggest concert stage, watched each year by hundreds of millions globally. Recent performers have included Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Usher, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Eminem. This will be the first time the stage is given to a Puerto Rican artist who has dominated the charts in recent years.
JAY-Z, founder of Roc Nation, which has produced the halftime show since 2019, said: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are proud to host him on the world’s biggest stage.”
