Mention Pamela Anderson and most people immediately picture the red swimsuit she wore on the hit series “Baywatch,” along with the rescue buoy that became almost as iconic as she did.
In recent years, however, Anderson has ditched the makeup, cosmetic injections and hair extensions, embracing a more natural look. Call us crazy, but in her case, she really doesn’t need any of it.
The 59-year-old actress attended the amfAR gala on Sunday night as part of the Venice Film Festival, turning heads in a vivid orange satin gown paired with a matching floor-length shawl.
Pamela Anderson is probably one of the last women anyone would have expected to walk a red carpet without a trace of makeup, especially after years as the embodiment of over-the-top ’90s glamour, with pencil-thin brows, heavily lined eyes, defined lips, voluminous blond hair and revealing outfits that left little to the imagination.

In recent years, however, the star has done something that once would have seemed completely out of character: She stopped trying to look younger. Anderson now regularly attends events with a completely bare face, allowing wrinkles, pigmentation and other signs of aging to show, and has turned her natural appearance into one of her most recognizable statements.
She has said it felt right to go without makeup, describing the decision as a kind of “rebellion,” one that freed her from the expectation that she should always look like the sex symbol the world had grown accustomed to seeing.
