Ja Rule to perform in Israel for the first time

The hip-hop and R&B star will perform one show at Rishon Lezion’s Amphimax on Oct. 29; known for hits with Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Milian, Ja Rule also has a Grammy-nominated album; tickets cost 349-700 shekels

Hip-hop and R&B star Ja Rule will perform at Amphimax in Rishon Lezion on Oct. 29, organizers announced Thursday.
Ja Rule broke through in the late 1990s and became one of the most prominent rappers of the early 2000s. His debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci, released in 1999 and featuring the hit “Holla Holla,” went platinum. His next two albums, Rule 3:36 and Pain Is Love, both reached No. 1 on the U.S. albums chart.

Pain Is Love, which sold millions of copies and was certified triple platinum in the United States, was nominated for a Grammy Award for best rap album.
Among his best-known collaborations are “Always on Time” with Ashanti, “I’m Real” and “Ain’t It Funny” with Jennifer Lopez and “Between Me and You” with Christina Milian. “I’m Real,” “Ain’t It Funny” and “Always on Time” all reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
Ticket sales will begin Sunday, with prices ranging from 349 to 700 shekels for seated sections.
