The couple announced their engagement on Instagram, showing off a massive diamond valued by experts at $5 million. But Rodriguez is hardly the first to flash an extravagant rock—others have been in the game longer and with more carats on hand.
Jennifer Lopez – 8.5-carat green diamond, $7 million
When Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez with a rare 8.5-carat natural green diamond, the internet stopped and collectively Googled: “Are green diamonds real?” The color, unusual and highly sought after, matched Lopez’s style perfectly and tied back to her iconic green Versace dress from the 2000 Grammys.
The ring, flanked by two smaller white diamonds, is valued at $5–7 million.
