Fans from across Europe, including Sweden, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Switzerland and the Netherlands, spoke openly about their favorite Israeli Eurovision songs and their views on this year’s entry. While opinions on “Michelle” varied, several fans said politics should stay out of the contest and emphasized that Eurovision is ultimately about music and unity.
“I love it. One of my favorites,” said Brigitte from Sweden, before adding: “The world needs Israel.” Another fan from Portugal, now living in Switzerland, said: “We have to put politics out of it. This is about music, not politics.”

Others highlighted Israel’s strong Eurovision history, repeatedly naming classics such as “Golden Boy,” “Hallelujah,” “Toy,” “Diva” and “Unicorn” among their all-time favorites. One Dutch fan even revealed they had brought Israeli flags to wave during the Grand Final.
Not every reaction was supportive, with a small number of fans saying they did not connect with the song or objected to Israel’s participation on political grounds. But across the interviews, many Eurovision attendees stressed a desire for the event to remain a celebration of culture, music and shared experiences rather than division.
The conversations offered a different perspective from the often heated discourse online, showing that on the streets of Vienna, support for Israel and its Eurovision presence remains visible among international fans.
