The great sex toy test: Which vibrators actually deliver orgasms?

From oral sex simulators and air-pulse stimulators to a vibrating masturbation sleeve and prostate massager, our reviewers put seven sex toys for women, men and couples to the test, revealing which delivered the most pleasure, which fell short and whether they're worth the price

|
What makes a great sex toy? Is it power, comfort, versatility or simply the ability to deliver on its promises? We put seven products to the test, from compact vibrators designed for women to gadgets for men and couples, to find out which ones were worth the money and which left us wanting more.
Our reviewers tested everything from devices that imitate oral sex to an air-pulse stimulator, a vibrating masturbation sleeve and a prostate massager. Along the way, they discovered that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, expensive doesn't always mean more satisfying, and even a seemingly innocent pink fox can pack quite a punch.
Here are their verdicts.

Satisfyer Tongue Dancer: 'More satisfying than a man'

Satisfyer understands women. The company understands that when you want an orgasm, you don't necessarily want to work too hard for it. Sometimes you just want a cute little gadget to take care of business. Literally.
That's exactly what the Satisfyer Tongue Dancer promises.

Satisfyer Tongue Dancer
It sounds like the name of a Chardonnay with notes of cherry and cranberry, but given the choice between a glass of wine and my little lilac-colored friend, I know which one I'd pick.
So how does it work?
Operation couldn't be simpler, with a single button on the side. As the packaging promises, it's easy to clean, and it's genuinely fun to use.
All eight stimulation settings impressed me. Charging is done via USB, so there's no need to keep buying batteries. Its compact size, smaller than an iPhone and about as light as a pocket mirror, also makes it ideal for travel or nights away from home.
Here's the thing about Satisfyer products: When they make a promise, they generally deliver.
The small rotating component is designed to imitate the sensation of oral sex, and the result was remarkably convincing. In fact, I found it more satisfying than most of my experiences with male partners.
Another pleasant surprise was how responsive and straightforward the device was. The battery lasts well, the controls are intuitive, and the device can be used with or without lubricant.
Now for the drawbacks, and there aren't many.
The first is noise. Although the packaging advertises a quiet mode, the device is actually fairly loud. The higher the intensity, the louder it becomes.
It's not the sort of noise your neighbors are likely to hear through the walls, but it could certainly be audible through a closed bedroom door. That is worth considering if you live with other people or have a sleeping baby nearby.
The second issue is intensity.
I'm not convinced this is the best device for beginners. Even the lowest setting is relatively powerful. Anyone who prefers gentle stimulation and a more gradual experience might find the Tongue Dancer a little overwhelming.
But for experienced users looking for something effective, it certainly lives up to its name.

Satisfyer Tongue Genius: A little invention from sex toy heaven

Small and adorable. Those were my first thoughts when I opened the Satisfyer Tongue Genius.
But small and adorable doesn't mean boring, and it certainly doesn't mean ineffective.
If you enjoy oral stimulation, this could be the toy for you.

Satisfyer Tongue Genius
Made from silicone, the Tongue Genius imitates the movement of a tongue. It's another variation on the separately sold Tongue Dancer, but this version is particularly well suited to beginners thanks to its approachable size and cute pink design.
For the same reasons, it can also work well for couples.
The device offers two types of stimulation that can be used separately or together: an insertable component and external clitoral stimulation.
You can use just the tip for gentler contact or increase the contact for a more intense sensation.
One of its strongest features is the material itself.
The silicone is among the most pleasant I've encountered. It feels softer than previous versions, with a texture I can only describe as velvety.
I genuinely didn't realize a vibrator could feel this comfortable.
The buttons, which are flat and covered in the same soft silicone, are also a pleasure to use.
As with the smaller Tongue Dancer, the device offers eight settings designed to imitate oral stimulation. Whoever came up with this feature deserves a special place in sex toy heaven.
The Tongue Genius works beautifully as a solo device, but it also has plenty to offer couples because the two functions can be used independently or simultaneously.
I tried it without lubricant, although the instructions allow for lubricant use as well.
The simultaneous operation is particularly impressive. Switching between settings feels smooth and coordinated, making it easy to adjust the pace and intensity.
The only strange drawback was that I had difficulty turning it off.
I cycled through the different settings but couldn't get the device to shut down for several minutes. On previous Satisfyer products, holding down the minus button had done the trick.
It was a little frustrating.
On the positive side, the Tongue Genius is relatively quiet and can also be used in water.

Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Generation 2: The quietest device I've ever tried

Wow. Where do I even begin with this one?
This version of the Satisfyer comes with a built-in digital display, which might not sound especially exciting on paper, but in practice it gives the device a distinctly high-tech feel.
It offers 10 vibration settings and another 11 air-pulse stimulation settings, providing a particularly wide range of options.

The device is flexible, comfortable and feels luxurious, partly thanks to the small screen displaying the current intensity.
Its clitoral stimulation uses pulses of air rather than conventional vibration.
The concept is excellent, and the execution exceeded my expectations.
This is also the quietest sex toy I've ever encountered.
The company promises whisper-level operation, and in my experience it delivers. The discreet noise level is a major advantage.
One online reviewer wrote that the suction function was "almost too good." I understand exactly what she meant.
The air-pulse feature works exceptionally well, although proper positioning matters. The recommendation is to place the opening fully against the clitoris without pressing too hard, since excessive pressure can reduce the sensation.
Experimenting with all 11 settings is genuinely enjoyable. Having so many options adds a sense of discovery to the experience.
The device is also easy to operate and clean. Another useful feature is that the digital display shows the remaining battery level, so you can plan your next charging session instead of being caught by surprise.
And the biggest drawback?
Once you own this vibrator, you might not feel like leaving the house.
Fantastic.

Foxy Lady: Pink, playful and surprisingly effective

In recent years, sex toys have become increasingly attractive, playful and approachable.
Gone are the days when every product seemed to be a bulky, intimidating device designed by men for women. Today's market offers beautifully designed products that are pleasant to hold, easy to use and increasingly treated as accessories for sexual wellness.

Foxy Lady
Foxy Lady fits perfectly into that trend.
It's bright pink, with two small, adorable ears that make it look like a miniature fox. At first glance, it seems almost too cute to take seriously.
Then you switch it on and discover that this little pink fox means business.
Foxy Lady is a double-ended device. One side features a suction mechanism with seven intensity levels, while the other has a vibrating arm with several patterns and strengths.
I tested it for external stimulation, and it absolutely delivered.
The sensation was comfortable, focused and powerful. The fox's little ears added another layer of stimulation, and the overall experience was highly effective without requiring a lengthy buildup.
The device is also easy to clean and comfortable to hold.
One of my favorite features was the illuminated buttons. They're perfect for anyone who prefers to turn off the lights but still wants to know which control they're pressing under the blanket.
Ultimately, Foxy Lady is exactly the kind of toy that's fun to keep in your bedside drawer.
It's attractive, comfortable, well made and, most importantly, effective.
Sometimes all you need is a small pink fox with mischievous ears.

VIBEGGS Candy Curves vibrating sleeve: Give your right hand a day off

Look, I'm not really a sex toy person.
I have a right hand with 30 years of experience in the field. Dedicated, professional and reliable. It has never taken a sick day.
So when this vibrating masturbation sleeve arrived, I was understandably skeptical.
ביצת אוננות
ביצת אוננות
VIBEGGS Candy Curves vibrating sleeve
The principle is simple: a sleeve made from a soft, pleasant material, with a small vibrating component inside that is supposed to imitate the movement of a tongue.
You slip it on, use it much as you would your hand, and let the technology do the rest.
Does it work?
For most of the experience, I have to admit that I didn't notice a dramatic difference.
Hand, sleeve, vibration. All perfectly pleasant, but nothing that made me understand what the excitement was about.
Then came the finale.
And gentlemen, that's when things changed.
Suddenly, I understood exactly what that little vibrating component was capable of. The experience became noticeably different, more focused and intense, with a significantly longer finish than I was used to.
It actually felt as though someone had put some thought into designing this thing specifically for me.
Overall? Not bad.
And believe me, that understatement says quite a lot.
Maintenance is surprisingly easy.
A few drops of water are enough to make the soft material slippery, so there's no need for an elaborate collection of lubricants. Cleaning is also done with water.
And yes, since I'm sure some of you are wondering about the electrical component, the device is designed with an insulated mechanism. As with any intimate electronic accessory, it's important to follow the manufacturer's safety and cleaning instructions.
Who is it for?
Men who enjoy gadgets, anyone looking to change up their routine, and people like me who thought that after 30 years there was nothing new left to discover.
My right hand has nothing to worry about. It's still employee of the month.
But the next time it asks for a day off, at least I know there's someone who can fill in.

Zini prostate massager: A luxurious introduction for curious beginners

I'll start with a confession.
My prostate and I have a relationship based on mutual respect and maintaining a safe distance.
We barely see each other, and that's how I prefer it.
מעסה ערמונית

Zini prostate massager
So when this particular toy landed on my desk, I was "forced" to enlist the help of a friend. Please notice the quotation marks. They're doing a lot of work here.
That turned this into a two-person review and gave me a perspective on a device that can certainly be used with a partner.
Let's begin with the design, because I found it genuinely impressive.
My device arrived in red and gold. Frankly, if you spotted it on a shelf in some ridiculously pretentious Paris design boutique, between a gold-plated vase and an Art Deco sculpture, you probably wouldn't blink.
The massager itself is curved like a finger making a "come here" gesture, a shape commonly associated with prostate stimulation devices.
Its handle is particularly comfortable to hold.
My partner in this little experiment agreed that the control was excellent, an important advantage when another person is involved.
As for the sensation, it's relatively gentle.
The device is not especially thick, and my partner felt that the stimulation might be too mild for someone accustomed to more intense experiences.
But what initially sounds like a drawback is actually its greatest strength.
This is an excellent introductory toy for someone curious about prostate stimulation but hesitant to try something more intimidating.
And yes, I know what you're thinking about the name Zini.
The biggest distinction, as far as I'm concerned, is that this is a device you control, with consent and appropriate lubrication.
So who should buy it?
Curious beginners, anyone interested in exploring something new, or people who want a decorative object for their bedside table that would be rather difficult to explain to their mother.
As for my prostate, I'm still not convinced we're going to become best friends.
But at least the lines of communication are now open.

Elements Breeze: The gentle breeze that became a storm

This suction toy is called Breeze, and at first glance the name seems entirely appropriate.
It comes in a soft powder-pink shade with gold accents, giving it an elegant, luxurious appearance.
But don't let the delicate design or gentle name fool you.
Once it's switched on, the experience is considerably more powerful than a light breeze.
Breeze is an external stimulation device that uses pressure-wave technology, meaning it creates stimulation without requiring direct contact with the clitoris.
The device is lightweight, ergonomic and extremely comfortable to hold.
Its controls are straightforward and intuitive, and it offers 10 rhythms and intensity levels. That means you can begin gently and gradually increase the power according to your preferences.
My personal experience with it was excellent.
It felt pleasant, precise and, above all, extremely effective.
In fact, it worked so quickly that I was genuinely surprised. It's a good reminder that something designed to look soft and delicate can still deliver a powerful experience.
Overall, Breeze is an excellent option for beginners and more experienced users alike.
And thanks to its elegant design, it could also make a thoughtful gift for a friend or romantic partner.
Enjoy.
